The largest third rack available has a deep, angled design that fits 6″ glasses, mugs and bowls. It features rotating wash jets to clean items in the rack, a drying bar with tabs that help wick moisture off glasses and a removable utensil tray for cooking tools.
Advanced Clean Water Wash System
uses microfiltration to continuously remove food particles during the wash and rinse cycles and circulates clean water to dishes in all three racks. This allows dirty cookware and delicate glassware to be washed together in the same load.

The top rack on this dishwasher is really well thought out, way better than some of the other big-name brands. Some folks get so attached to the brand names that they miss the big picture. A lot of third racks are just flat, but this KitchenAid model has a dip at the front, perfect for coffee mugs or cereal bowls. The flatter section is great for small items and spatulas. The bottom rack has nice big sections for silverware. I ended up taking out the divider that was meant to hold the flatware individually because my utensils have thick handles that just wouldn’t fit. I’ve noticed that the buttons can be a bit too sensitive, so when I close the door, I often accidentally activate something and then have to hit “off” to reset it. It would be nice to have an indicator to let me know when to refill the rinse aid. But overall, I really love this dishwasher; it gets my dishes super clean and shiny! The motor is super quiet, even if it’s just a decibel different from other brands. My old KitchenAid lasted over 20 years, so I’m definitely a big fan!

First off, this dishwasher looks fantastic, and the dishes come out clean and spot-free, which is what you’d expect but isn’t always a given. It’s super quiet, which I love. I got this model because the sales rep claimed it actually dries the dishes. I’ve used it three times now, and my dishes still come out pretty wet. I always press the Pro Dry option to extend the drying time, but they’re still damp. Another downside is how long the cycles take. The Express wash without drying is just over an hour, and the Normal wash takes almost three hours! That’s quite a while. I’m starting to wonder if it’s really worth all the hype if I have to dry the dishes myself after waiting 1-3 hours for them to be cleaned.
