The cleaning is where this thing really shines! If I could tweak one thing, it’d be to make the third rack better for holding stuff like tongs and spatulas. They’re too big for the third rack and too tall for the utensil holder, so I’m left cramming them on the bottom rack, which is a bummer!

The whole base is made of plastic, and it feels kinda flimsy and cheap. The insulation isn’t even attached, so it moves around and gets caught on things during installation. On the upside, the interior layout is an improvement over the last model, especially the top shelf. However, this one is louder than my old Kitchenaid, which was rated at 39 dBA. It does clean the dishes well, though.

We’ve had this dishwasher for around four years now, and it does a fantastic job cleaning. The downside is that the stainless steel front has started to rust. I tried various cleaners, but nothing worked, so I resorted to using a 3M pad, which ended up scratching the whole front panel. We just wrapped up our kitchen remodel with the last bit of KitchenAid, and we waited a whopping seven months for the range and hood to arrive!

This is hands down the best dishwasher I’ve ever had! It’s so quiet that I find myself straining to hear the water filling up from the sink pipes, even though the lights show it’s on. There’s a handy “clean” light that lets you know the last load was washed successfully. The control panel is super sensitive but in a good way. Those crisp blue indicator lights look great on the panel and the front corner.
The loading space is really generous, and that third upper rack is a game changer! Plus, the utensil basket is sturdy and has well-spaced openings for spoons, which I love since they get a thorough wash. The third rack has fantastic spacing, making sure everything gets cleaned well. The middle rack can even adjust in height, though I haven’t needed to do that yet.
I was a bit thrown off by the exposed coil heating element at first, but I think it helps with keeping water from pooling in cups and other items. It’s impressive—there are just a few drips left on some things after a wash. And I can actually see how much rinse aid is left, which I’ve never had in a dishwasher before. I haven’t tried all the wash cycles and options yet since I’ve only had it for about a week and a half, but that classic Kitchenaid metal handle looks so sleek. I’m just in love with this dishwasher!
