Just a heads-up: the third rack does lower the middle and bottom racks a bit, so there’s a small ergonomic tradeoff, but it’s totally worth it. This dishwasher is super quiet, really user-friendly, and gives you the option to mount it from the side or top. Plus, you can load a TON of dishes in it!

I’ve had this dishwasher for 6 months, and I’m really happy with it. The dishes come out clean, and I’ve heard people say that new dishwashers don’t dry well, but that’s not an issue with this one. It has a heated dry button, and even if you don’t use it, the dishes still come out dry. It’s also very quiet. So far, so good.

I got this dishwasher because I thought the third rack would be really helpful, and it is once you figure out which dishes fit best on it. It’s great for mugs and medium glasses, though some larger glassware doesn’t fit. With our old dishwasher, we used to fill it up every day (just the two of us) because it just wasn’t designed well to hold much. This new one holds about 65% more thanks to its smart design and spacing. That said, the “regular wash” cycle doesn’t clean the dishes in the third rack as well, even though we rinse everything before loading. I always use the ProWash cycle when it’s full, and it takes a while, so I run it before bed. It’s super quiet and, honestly, it’s the best dishwasher I’ve ever owned. I’d definitely buy it again, though I do wish it had more slots for stemware—there are only 2.

The good: The rack space is used really efficiently, so we can load way more dishes into this KitchenAid than our old one. It uses about 66% less water, and the door closes easily. It’s also energy-efficient, even when using the heat dry option, which is necessary to get the dishes fully dry since there’s no fan dry or condensing option.
The bad: The noise level of this KitchenAid model is pretty disappointing. It’s the loudest dishwasher I’ve had in 25 years, and I expected it to be at least as quiet as my old one, especially since it has a 4 dB lower rating. Another issue is that the control buttons on the front panel are hard to see in low light. Overall, the KitchenAid gets the job done.
