This is the first dishwasher I’ve come across where the third rack is actually useful. Normally, I just take those out because they’re pointless—only good for a few flat utensils. But this dishwasher’s third rack has its own spray system and is built to fit coffee mugs, small bowls, and utensils without messing up the space on the second rack. I have no idea how they managed to pack all that functionality into the same-sized machine!

The only downside is that it takes longer to run the same cycles. I’m guessing it’s because of all the government rules on water and energy use, so it has to run longer to get the job done.

This KitchenAid, on the other hand, is everything the Bosch wasn’t. It holds way more, cleans perfectly even on Express mode, and is as quiet as a mouse. Fantastic dishwasher—highly recommend it!

Luckily, the lower rack from my old Miele fit perfectly, so now I can load 16 place settings, though I had to move the utensil rack up to the middle level. It washes dishes well and is quiet enough, but I’m not a fan of how long the cycles take—it’s about an hour longer than my old dishwasher. Now I’m just crossing my fingers that it lasts a long time!

If you’re in the market for a great dishwasher, this is it. The only downside is that I keep accidentally pressing the touch screen when I close the door. I think a lock-out switch would fix that!
